A letter from AMARIS
My journey to AMARIS began behind the camera. I earned my BFA and MFA in Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where my work was discussed by Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic Jerry Saltz. I was guided by Nick Cave (performance artist known for Soundsuits), Dawoud Bey (MacArthur 'Genius' photographer), and Barbara DeGenevieve (feminist photography pioneer).
Over a decade, I photographed New York and Paris Fashion Weeks, shot for Elle Russia, and photographed cultural icons including André Leon Talley (legendary Vogue editor), Drew Barrymore, Christina Tosi (James Beard chef), Danielle Lauder (Estée Lauder family), and George Malkemus (former Manolo Blahnik CEO).
AMARIS has been featured at Art Basel Miami (Faena Bazaar, 2021-2022) and honored at Coterie Show for sustainability. My photography is in the permanent collection of the Palmer House Hilton, Chicago.
After a decade documenting fashion's biggest moments, I moved to Bali seeking a new creative chapter. There, I found a global community of artisans and innovators redefining luxury—not as excess, but as essence: beautiful materials, intentional design, and a lighter footprint.
AMARIS was born from this philosophy. We are for those who believe that style and sustainability are not just compatible, but inseparable. For the woman who sees her wardrobe not as a collection of trends, but as a toolkit for a life well-lived—full of adventure, purpose, and effortless elegance.
Thank you for being here and for joining this journey.
With gratitude,
Amaris
ETHOS
You are the heart of everything we design.
You are the quiet confidence in the room.
You are the strength on the trail and the elegance at the table.
You value experiences over things, but the things you own must be beautiful, ethical, and multifunctional.
You believe in feeling powerful and feminine. Not one or the other.
You are understated, never basic. Bold, never loud.
You invest in pieces that travel, transition, and tell your story.
This wardrobe is for you.
This belief—that your clothes should empower your life, not complicate it—is the foundation of AMARIS.
